Subscriptions and Pricing
Financial sustainability is a core pillar of our mission. Paid subscriptions are an important tool that helps us cover the operational and software development costs that keep Wildlife Insights running, so that it can remain a permanent resource for the global community.
Some organizations, specifically government organizations and for-profit companies, are expected to pay a subscription fee for use of the platform. The specific pricing for a subscription considers several factors, including organization type and size, number of devices in the field, data volume, and geographic location, which are reviewed on an annual basis.
In addition to the core functionality of Wildlife Insights, subscription plans can include access to benefits such as:
- priority technical support assistance (turnaround 24 h)
- specialized onboarding and training
- additional data privacy features
- bulk upload of catalogued or uncatalogued data
- additional functionality at the organization and project level
- direct input on platform feature development
- option to store a copy of your data in a specific region
Specific benefits are determined by the terms of each subscription agreement. We are willing to work with organizations on our pricing, considering factors such as overall organizational budget and temporary or permanent budgetary restrictions. We do not want limited funding to be a barrier for our users.
Wildlife Insights will remain free for:
- Registered users with public-only accounts (non-data contributors)
- Individuals with no organizational affiliation
- Citizen Scientists Users affiliated with a government agency in a transitioning or developing economy, as recognized by the United Nations
- Users affiliated with an academic institution
- Users who are part of an Indigenous or First Nation Group
If you qualify for free use of the platform but are interested in the additional benefits of a paid subscription, or if you have any questions regarding pricing, please contact [email protected].
