Private project downloads
Once you're finished processing and reviewing images, you may want to download your dataset for analysis. Wildlife Insights downloads provide a standardized template that makes it easy to compare data across several projects.
Request a download
You can request a download from your own project at any time. You must have access to the project as an Owner, Editor, or Viewer. All downloads are updated on demand so that you can access the most up-to-date information!
To request a data download from a project, navigate to the Project page, filter the data you wish to download in the Catalogued (or Identify) tab (optional), and click the green Download button on the right-hand side of the Catalogued (or Identify) tab. You will have the options to Exclude blank images, Exclude human images, Exclude images in the Identify tab, and Include Catalogued filters (or Include Identify filters). Select Request data to confirm your request.
Note: Large downloads may take several hours to process.

Download Data Package
After you request a download, you'll receive an email from Wildlife Insights with a link to download a data package that includes:
projects.csv
: metadata about project methodology and objectives;cameras.csv
: metadata about the devices (cameras) used in the project;deployments.csv
: metadata about the placement of a camera, including start date, end date, coordinates and other camera settings;- Detections: data about the animals detected by the camera traps are reported in one of two ways, depending on how the data was recorded:
images.csv
: data about each individual image, including species identifications and date/time;sequences.csv
: data about a sequence of images, including species identifications and date/time. These are used for rapid bursts of images that typically represent one animal or animal group.
- Wildlife Insights Data Use and Citation Guides: Guidance for how to use data downloaded from Wildlife Insights in an analysis or for any other purpose, including providing attribution to the dataset creator/creators as described by the license assigned to the dataset and instructions for downloading images. Note: Bounding boxes are not included in images downloaded, but the coordinates of bounding boxes are included in the
images.csv
file. - Wildlife Insights Data Dictionary: Definitions for each field in the files provided; and
